Mike Connett - Ohio

Greetings from the “Wide Rack Ranch” here in southern Ohio. I want to thank you all for providing me with your outstanding products over the last two seasons. I started managing my free-ranging deer herd for quality trophy bucks about nine years ago. I initially thought that I could just use any old clover/alfalfa mix to attract, nourish and hold whitetails. But something just seemed to be lacking in my “homemade” legume mixtures. I have since planted both Alfa-Rack and Imperial Whitetail Clover in several different food plots on my operation.
One of the things that I am impressed with is that it’s December and the deer are still eating the Imperial Clover every night. Other brands that I used were completely gone or dormant by this time of the season. I have enclosed a photo of a buck I harvested on the edge of one of my Imperial Whitetail Clover food plots. This wide-racked 11-point green scores 162 Pope & Young (gross). He has a 22- inch inside spread. His live weight was 240 pounds. This buck was harvested in December. Please note the beautiful stand of Imperial Whitetail Clover in the picture. Being a successful outfitter means I must attract, hold and nourish deer so I can provide my hunters with the best opportunities to harvest a buck of a lifetime. Whitetail Institute products are helping me do this. Fast growing, highly nutritious, and hardy legumes are what you all promised me. And that is exactly what my deer herd has received these last two years. I will be sure to let others know about my success with your products. Thanks again for the fine products that work.
