Imperial Whitetail PowerPlant: Seasonal and Transitional Benefits

By Jon Cooner

Imperial Whitetail PowerPlant is a spring and summer annual mix designed to provide whitetails with massive amounts of highly palatable, high-protein forage when they need it most. PowerPlant is so good at fulfilling that role it’s the only strictly spring/summer annual for deer Whitetail Institute offers. But don’t overlook the additional benefits PowerPlant can provide beyond summer and into fall.

We have the Power(Plant)

By Scott Bestul

Most deer hunters recognize that two prime features — food and cover — are centerpieces of a whitetail’s life. Know what and where a buck eats and you’re edging closer to arranging a meeting with him. Figure out where he feels safe to bed and, well, tagging that buck is just a matter of putting in the time and hunting intelligently.

KEVIN ALKER - LOUISIANA

 Kevin Alker – Louisiana

When we got the 120 acres of land almost 18 years ago, it had not produced a trophy class whitetail (130 plus) in over 15 years. I knew this was my chance to do my own program. After a lot of research, I decided to go with the Whitetail Institute’s products. We planted our two largest fields in Imperial Whitetail Clover the first year. We put out cameras and realized we not only had a horrible age structure, but our few older bucks weren’t what you would hope they’d be. We had a bulldozer come in and help us widen existing plots and strategically create some new ones.

8 REASONS TO PLANT WARM-SEASON ANNUALS - THE CASE FOR POWERPLANT

By Gerald Almy

Archery season was just days old when the dark-gray, deep-chested buck stepped into the lush, green food plot. As I studied his body language to see if he was about to bolt, I tried to figure out what he was feeding on in the thick plot, which contained a mixture of forages.

Imperial Whitetail PowerPlant: Make the Most of Limited Antler-Growing Time

By Jon Cooner

Most of us would get a lot more done if we used our time more wisely. That’s especially true for hunters who want the bucks they hunt next fall to carry the largest antlers possible. Imperial Whitetail PowerPlant is the No. 1 forage tool you have specifically for providing bucks with the massive amounts of protein they need to help maximize antler size during the limited antler-growth period. And don’t wait to order PowerPlant. The Whitetail Institute only produces a specific amount of PowerPlant each year, and supplies are almost always exhausted before demand has been met.

DYLAN NORTON - ALABAMA

I’m very blessed to have a dad who took a lot of time taking me hunting since I was a little boy. I can’t thank him enough. We are fortunate to have a good place to hunt. We’ve killed a lot of deer over the years on this place, and some of them were good decent bucks.

A Labor of Love...and Payback Time

By Gerald Almy

Glancing at the white farmhouse, I wondered what my neighbors would think if they saw the commotion where I was tilling a food plot that August afternoon. The plume of dust, which rose like smoke above me, must have looked like a scene from Dante’s Inferno. And the noise from the old diesel tractor as it rattled, clattered and banged into rocks in drought-parched dirt was no doubt deafening if you didn’t have ear plugs in, like I did.

Spring Plantings Offers Powerful Benefits

By Jon Cooner

All Whitetail Institute perennials can be planted in spring in most areas. The same is true of two Whitetail Institute annual forage products, PowerPlant and No-Plow. Planting food plots in spring can be an outstanding option if you accept that it takes commitment to do it right.

Imperial Whitetail PowerPlant Performance Far Beyond the Ordinary

By Whitetail Institute Staff

Imperial Whitetail PowerPlant is a spring/summer annual forage product that excels at the highest level for getting lots of protein into your deer during spring and summer. Even as awesome as PowerPlant is as a spring/summer forage, though, limiting its description that way might be a huge disservice. PowerPlant can also provide benefits far beyond that, even into hunting season.

Jim Montgomery – Illinois

Food plots are a long road, and at times difficult, but it’s also a road you can’t get off. My first food plot was about 15 feet wide and about 50 feet long, made with a chain saw and tiller. It was my first try and I used Whitetail Institute’s Imperial Whitetail Clover.

Variety Maximizes ‘Flavour’ and Power of Food Plots

By Jon Cooner

Most of us have heard the old saying, “Variety is the spice of life.” Actually, the full quote is, “Variety’s the very spice of life, that gives it all its flavour.” The author, William Cowper, wrote that line in 1785, so it’s doubtful he intended it as advice for food plotters. It applies nonetheless, because planting a variety of carefully selected forages can maximize how well and for how long food plots can attract deer.

Superior Sunn Hemp Formula Boosts Benefits of Popular PowerPlant

 By Whitetail Institute Staff

Have you ever wondered why the Whitetail Institute only offers one annual food plot product specifically designed to deliver massive amounts of protein for deer during spring and summer? The reason is simple: No competing spring/summer annual food plot product we’ve tested can match the tonnage of palatable, high-protein forage that PowerPlant provides. The Whitetail Institute’s Research and Development Department is always working on new products and finding ways to make existing products even better. In this article, we’ll look at why PowerPlant is already the top performer in annual food plot products designed for spring and summer protein delivery, as well as how the Whitetail Institute has raised the bar even further.

The Drought Dilemma Dry weather doesn’t have to be the end of your food plot

By David Hart

Blame it on a string of unfortunate weather events or an act of God. Whatever the reason, this past year was one of the driest on record. More than half the contiguous United States was under what the National Climatic Data Center labeled moderate to exceptional drought in July 2012, and 78 percent was abnormally dry. Although autumn rains did help in some regions, things haven’t improved much throughout a large part of the country since. (I’m writing this in November 2012.)

Imperial Whitetail PowerPlant Improving Antlers by the Numbers

By Jon Cooner

It’s pretty simple, folks. If you want the bucks you hunt next fall to be carrying larger antlers, you’ll need to supply them with lots of palatable, protein-rich foliage during the spring and summer. And no other competing product the Whitetail Institute has ever tested beats Imperial Whitetail PowerPlant for doing exactly that.

New York Hunter Shares Successful QDM Practices

By Russell Nitchman

In August 2000, my wife and I purchased a 104- acre parcel in upstate New York. At that point, I was an average hunter who had read about quality deer management in magazines. I had bought into many of the ideas, mostly because of the larger bucks that QDM can produce. Since I was a teenager, I had dreamed of killing a trophy buck. But after buying my land, my reasons for practicing QDM have expanded beyond tagging a trophy to include improving habitat for whitetails, turkeys and other animals.

By Jon Cooner

By now, most folks know that protein is among the most critical nutrients for deer. That’s why the Whitetail Institute has spent the last twenty years working on increasing and improving the protein content in its forage products. To provide deer with all the protein they need right when they need it the most, you need look no further than Imperial PowerPlant. It truly is the king of Protein.

PowerPlant the Protein Sledgehammer

By Jon Cooner

By now, most hunters and managers know that if a buck is to grow his largest possible antlers, he must ingest the highest protein forages possible during the spring and summer antler-growing period.

Don't Wait Too Late! Timing is critical for protein

By Jon Cooner

When it comes to maximizing antler size, no nutrient is as important as protein. And when it comes to providing lots of palatable, high protein forage for deer, Imperial PowerPlant produces more tonnage than any other competing product tested. To be sure your deer have all the protein they need to be as big and healthy as possible, and to help them grow the biggest racks, order your PowerPlant early. There are two reasons timing is critical.
