Nutrition VS Attraction: Comparing Nutritional Products and Lollipops

By Matt Harper

The older I get, the less tolerant I become of products that don’t live up to their billing. You might think I’m getting cantankerous, but it could be a symptom of overabundant misleading or false advertising.

Do Minerals Really Work?

By Matt Harper

I would guess that most of you reading this magazine have been to a hunting, fishing or outdoors trade show at least once. Many of you have probably been to several, and why not? These shows are filled with cool things that hunters get giddy over. I was a frequent patron of hunting shows, spending at least a day of my weekend wandering the vast aisles, visiting with people selling everything from squirrel skinners to African safaris. But most of my trade-show days were spent as a booth jockey rather than a consumer.

Imperial Whitetail 30-06 Products: Year-round nutritional supplementation helps improve the antler size and the health of the entire herd.

By Whitetail Institute Staff

If you want the bucks you hunt next fall to have bigger racks, make sure they have access to the minerals and vitamins they need during the 200-day antler-growing window of spring and summer. To get the most out of the antler-growing window, though, make sure you indirectly promote antler growth during the rest of the year as well. Imperial Whitetail 30-06 nutritional supplements for deer are scientifically designed and professionally formulated to help you do just that.

DYLAN NORTON - ALABAMA

I’m very blessed to have a dad who took a lot of time taking me hunting since I was a little boy. I can’t thank him enough. We are fortunate to have a good place to hunt. We’ve killed a lot of deer over the years on this place, and some of them were good decent bucks.

Deer Suckers and Antler Builders A Guide to Product Identification

By Matt Harper

One of the major goals of a marketing group is to create a story or feeling around a product that is so appealing, the consumer believes their life would be better if they rushed out and purchased said product. If the consumer already has a deep passion for whatever the product will be used for, a small promotional push promising success is normally all it takes.

Imperial 30-06 Antler Up D3 Science Improves an Already Legendary Product

 By Matt Harper

For those who have read any of my articles, you may know I am not inclined to clichés or over-used euphemisms. But there are a few undeniable truths that have stood the test of time. One such example is the old adage, “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.” I have used this tidbit of wisdom on many occasions, in particular with my wife. In our longstanding battle of her trying to “fix” me, I argue that I am not broken, so why fix me. Her reply: “Even if we say you’re not broken, that doesn’t mean that I can’t make you better.”

Minerals, Minerals, Minerals...

By Matt Harper

“Look at the mass on that brute. He’s got Coke cans coming out of his head,” my buddy said. My over-excited buddy was looking at some trail camera pictures from a card we had just pulled on a camera set up overlooking a mineral site on my farm.

MINERAL PRODUCTS FILL THE BILL FOR OKLAHOMA HUNTER

By Alex White

I have always hunted at the Salt Plains Lake here in Oklahoma. From the time I was old enough to get up with my grandfather and beat him out to the pickup, I have hunted this land. It’s our family heritage and is handed down from generation to generation. The land I hunt, our homestead, was passed on to me from my grandfather as it was to him from his father and so on. Hunting has always been an important part of our family—a way of bringing together generations for fellowship and remembrance of those before us.

Clearing Up the Mineral Mystery and understanding the differences between supplements and attractants

By Matt Harper

Twenty years ago, most hunters and land managers were not aware of the extraordinary benefits a deer herd could realize from access to quality food plots. Through time, education and experience, the importance of food plots became a well-accepted doctrine. In fact, food plots are now standard operating procedure for most management-minded deer hunters.

Pack on Antler Mass With Mineral/Vitamin Supplements

By Jon Cooner

There’s no question that when it comes to improving the quality of the deer we hunt, high-quality, high-protein food plots are among the most important nutritional tools. If you want to ensure that your deer have all the nutrition they need to maximize health and antler size, though, be sure you don’t overlook mineral/vitamin supplementation.

Create Quality Food Plots in the Big Woods

By Michael Veine

Quality food plots will always improve a property’s deer hunting opportunties. They also improve the well-being of the deer along with providing other benefits for wildlife too. There’s no denying, however, that food plots will have differing impacts depending on the property’s characteristics, the surrounding lands and the food plot particulars. Food plots obviously have the most  impressive impact where food sources for the deer are somewhat lacking.

Don't Have a Green Thumb? Try Acorn Obsession

By Tracy Breen

Let’s face it: some die hard deer hunters weren’t born with a green thumb. Many of us lack the ability to grow the simplest plant. Many of us don’t have the time to successfully grow vegetables or food plots. For a food plot to be lush and green, lots of time and effort must be invested. If you find yourself lacking the time it takes to properly plant and grow a food plot, consider providing the deer in your hunting area with an alternative to bring them within bow range of your favorite tree stand.

Trail Cameras Are the Ultimate Census Takers...and Management Tools

By Scott Bestul

He was the fifth buck on the food plot, and I recognized him instantly. Only a month before, our trail camera had captured a fine 10-point that immediately made our “hit list.” Easily identified by monster brow tines and short G-4s, the buck also wore the broad body and thick neck of a mature deer. I focused on deep, steady breathing as the buck fed my way, and when he’d ambled within 30 yards I was already at full draw. The buck had his head down and was feeding contentedly when my arrow slipped behind his shoulder.

Doing It The Right Way In Alabama! Meet Oscar and Samuel Barclay

The first time you meet Oscar and Samuel Barclay you’ll immediately know they’re brothers. Like most brothers they’re similar in some ways but very different in others.

Oscar and Samuel agree on some things. Samuel says, “We both thank God each day for our health, and we thank our 97-year-old father for our hunting skills and success. We also thank Whitetail Institute for the quality of our deer and turkey.”
