I have hunted since I was about seven years old and have always lived where hunting was never more than minutes away. Early on, I hunted mostly small game, quail and doves. In the late ’80s I saw Ray Scott’s idea on Imperial Whitetail Clover for year-round food plots. Some of my first orders were for Imperial Clover, 30-06, Alfa-Rack and Extreme.
Some of your products worked good in the old row crop fields. I called the Whitetail Institute several years ago not expecting much help. To my surprise, a young man named Wilson answered the phone. Before I could ask a question he asked, “Can I help you?” I said, “You certainly can.” Wilson and I have talked many times on the telephone and I can say that you not only sell seed but you give great information and help to your customers. One of the first things he suggested was soil samples. I now have 12 food plots ranging from a half acre to an acre of beautiful Imperial Whitetail Clover and have established two plots of Extreme. Several of the better plots are over four years old and provide high-protein food year-round. I am growing much bigger deer with large racks thanks as much to your product as to the service that goes with it. We have had extremely dry summers for four of the last five years. My hay farmer has been cutting several tons of rich clover hay off of each of my food plots even during the years of very little rain. In closing, I would like to thank the Whitetail Institute for their fine products and for the service that they are most willing to provide.
P.S. I’ve enclosed several photographs. Photo 1 shows what the bucks’ racks looked like before I started using Whitetail Institute products. Photo 2 shows what the buck’s racks look like now. Photo 3 is just another example of what high quality nutrition can do.
